Another entertaining Bundesliga season is over as Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich went on to retain the league in record timing. Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund finished in 2nd as expected but 19 points behind the Bavarians with Schalke 04 and Bayer Leverkusen occupying the remaining Champions League spots. At the bottom of the table, Nurnberg were relegated alongside Eintracht Braunschweig while Hamburg kept their place in the Bundesliga after winning their relegation playoff tie.

Their record at the Allianz Arena was 88% while their away record was a not too shabby 82%. Compared to the champions, Dortmund only won 64% of their games this season with injuries taking their toll as they also lost 20% of all their games.
Interestingly, Schalke had a better home win record than Dortmund, winning 70% of their games while Wolfsburg and Gladbach won 64% of their home games - the same as Dortmund. As for Hamburg, they were the most disappointing team given the personnel they have in their squad, winning only 11% of their home games this season.

Despite Bayern Munich scoring 94 goals this season, they were not the team which featured the most goals as it was 9th place, Hoffenheim who not only scored 72 goals but conceded a remarkable 70 goals as well, leading to 83% of their games this season featuring over 2.5 goals. Bayern’s 62% however, is surprisingly below the likes of Dortmund (80%), Hamburg (%74) and Wolfsburg (74%).

As for timings of goals, Bayern Munich scored 21 of their goals from the 76th to 90th minute while they also scored 20 goals from the 61st to 75th minute. Dortmund were a team for the second half, scoring 60% of their goals from the 45th minute onwards.
Lastly, the most frequent scoreline in the Bundesliga this season was a 1-1 draw, occurring 30 times while 2-0 and 2-1 were the ones which followed, occurring 26 and 25 times respectively. As for the big scorelines, a 6-2 result was observed three times while the biggest win was a 0-7 victory which occurred just once.
