This could have been an easy three points for Getafe, an easier bet for all of us, had the team not suffered last week’s humiliating 7-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid. They were – and possibly still are – the better of the two teams: they scored more points and goals, and they looked like a team who would finish the season strongly. And then it happened. They went to Madrid and played like rabbits in front of headlights.

There is something in Madrid that makes the Getafe defenders freeze. They let in four goals against Real Madrid in an earlier encounter – and seven goals last week. They conceded more goals in these two games than did in all the other 12 games combined.

Usually, teams react to such drubbings in two ways: either they bounce back with the vengeance or they self-destruct like a drunkard. They have an ideal kind of team to stage a comeback against.

Levante has one of the weakest forward line in all of La Liga. Even the 20th placed Real Betis has scored more goals than them. Their defense is not strong either. Somehow, they put their best performance away from home. Three of their four wins have come in away fixtures. Levante will be looking for a fourth one at the expense of a rattled Getafe.

The H2H statistics do not give any clear indication for a prediction, as none of the teams have any real dominance over the other.

Getafe will have to play without some key players: the Spanish midfielder Pablo Sarabia is likely to sit out due to injury, and Valera will miss the match because of suspension. David Navarro is the only injury worry for Levante.
