After being eliminated from the Spanish Cup in the mid December, Granada is able to totally focus on their league performances. However, it is not going as they planned. Granada lost two more league games after that cup loss. That is why they are now just four points from the relegation zone. But they need not to worry as there are plenty of teams in a much worse situation. One of them includes Granada's this round’s opponents Valladolid. A win in this match would move Granada to a safer ground and that is what they’ll be looking for. It won’t be easy to do that without some important players, most notably Ighalo, who is injured.

Real Valladolid are struggling to keep away from the danger area. They are just above, because of the better goal difference they have than Celta. Valladolid might feel now, they could’ve done much better then, but there is a chance to fix the bad result.
