Half Time / Full Time Betting
Thanks to the creativity of bookmakers, football betting involves more than simply picking a winning team from any given match. Bookies have created all sorts of wagering options to increase the excitement, including half time / full time betting. This is one of the markets offered in fixed odds betting whereby the bettor is supposed to correctly predict the match result at half-time, and after regulation 90 minutes of play. Any goals made during extra time including penalty shoot-outs are not counted, and neither do the scores of an abandoned match count.
Half-time/ full-time bets, also known as double result provide bettors with nine betting options including draws. The following are the possible outcomes for a match between Liverpool and Chelsea:
Home/Home (1/1): Liverpool is leading at half-time, and wins the match: odds offered are 6.0
Home/Draw (1/X): Liverpool is leading at half-time, but the match ends in a draw: odds are 15.0
Home/Away (1/2): Liverpool is leading at half-time, but loses after regulation 90 minutes: odds are 26.0
Draw/Home (X/1): a draw at half-time, but Liverpool wins the match: odds are 6.5
Draw/Draw (X/X): a draw at half-time and full-time: odds are 4.0
Draw/Away (X/2): a draw at half-time, but Chelsea wins at full-time: odds are 5.0
Away/Home (2/1): Chelsea is leading at half-time, but loses at full-time: odds are 29.0
Away/Draw (2/X): Chelsea is leading at half-time, but the match ends in a draw: odds are 15.0
Away/Away (2/2): Chelsea is leading at half-time, and wins at full-time: odds are 3.75

As indicated above, the odds are extremely high for a possible home or away team win at half-time, and a full-time away or home team win, respectively. Conversely, the odds for favorites winning at both half and full-time are quite low.
Draw/Home is one of the most common outcomes. Betting on both half-time and full-time scores increases the possibilities for trading in this market. It also gives you higher odds compared to the conventional fixed odds or 1X2 bets. For example, the odds for Chelsea to win can be as low as 1.5, but the odds for Chelsea to win at half-time and full-time can be significantly higher at 3.5.
