Even without the backdrop of the title race, this match is an interesting one. This is kind of an irresistible-force-meeting-immovable-object match. Liverpool has scored the most number of goals, while Chelsea has conceded the least.

A number of external factors are going to influence the outcome of the match. No, we are not talking about the strange superstitions of the Liverpool fans. But it is about Chelsea’s upcoming Champions League semi final match against Atletico Madrid at Stanford Bridge on next Wednesday. Jose Mourinho has declared that he would rest, preferably, all top players against Liverpool.

Chelsea has considerable bench strength. They have sufficient stars in their ranks; even their second-string eleven will have more expensive stars than an ordinary EPL team.

Liverpool is looking for their 12th straight win. The team has not lost a match in 2014. They can afford to play out a draw against Chelsea, as they need just seven points from the three remaining matches.
