Manchester City-Liverpool betting preview
The biggest derby of the Boxing Day of the 2013 is the clash between Manchester City and Liverpool. The hosts are on the third place, only one point behind Liverpool, who are the Premier League leaders.
Manchester City have all eight wins on their stadium in the EPL. They have the goal difference of 35:5 on the Etihad Stadium, one of the most attended venues in the Britain. With the support of more than 40,000 fans, the Citizens are gonna try to beat Liverpool and claim the first place. The biggest problem for achieving that will be the absence of their best striker, and perhaps even the best player, Sergio Aguero. It’s a big punch for Manchester city, but they have lots of players ready to step in. Negredo, Dzeko, and Jovetic will have to do everything in their power to fill the gap until the late January when the Argentinean gets back in the team.
Liverpool brilliantly found their way to the top spot in the league with four convincing wins. In those four games, they put away an impressive 17 goals, mostly thanks to the EPL’s top striker Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan goal-getter scored 19 goals in 12 games, making him the most feared player in the league. With him in the team, the Liverpool Reds don’t worry too much about the absent players. However, the injury situation in the club is more than serious. The captain Steven Gerrard is out and so is the second-best striker in the team (and the third-best in the league), Daniel Sturridge.
Manchester City-Liverpool Prediction
This match promises to be one of the most entertaining ones this season. The hosts have the role of favorites, but anything can happen. I expect lots of goals on the both sides, so my advice is gonna be betting on either BTTS or even better Over 2.5.
