Manchester United-Norwich City betting preview
Manchester United has generated more excitement off the field than on the field this season. The excitement will reach its crescendo on this Saturday, when they host relegation-battling Norwich City – for the first time under the stewardship of club legend Ryan Giggs. Giggs added to the excitement by quipping that he might select himself. Norwich will be least interested in the trivial hype, or the controversies surrounding the untimely sacking of David Moyes. Instead they will be thinking about how to get three points that would help them avoid relegation.
The sacking of Moyes has supplied the long-missing feel-good factor for United. People may question its timing and the ethics behind it. But stock markets – the ultimate barometer of public perception in our times – have responded cheerfully. So have the fans. What United just needs to do is to dish out a thrashing to the lowly Norwich. There will be euphoria of a new dawn amidst the ManU fans.
Norwich City, on the other hand, will be concerned about an imminent dusk of their premier league existence. They are just two points away from the relegation zone. They will be kicking themselves for letting Liverpool go with a win last week. Another defeat would put their position in jeopardy.
Robin van Persie, Patrice Evra and Rafael are still injured for United. Jay Rodriguez is the only major injury concern for Norwich. The rest of the top players in both teams will play.
Manchester United-Norwich City Prediction
Norwich runs the risk of bumping into a resurgent Manchester United. Those sarcastic tweeters may be right after all: that Moyes’ sacking perhaps came at the wrong time for Norwich.
