Real Madrid was so close to winning the title of La Liga once again, but some unexpected defeats earlier in the season, like the one in the second round to Real Sociedad, proved to be costly. Los Blancos finished on the second place, with just 2 points less than the new champion Barcelona. Same as in previous 6 seasons, Cristiano Ronaldo was once again the players who pulled all the strings in Real Madrid’s play.
Ronaldo was the best league scorer in 2014/2015 season with an amazing 48 goals to his name in 35 matches. Thanks to him, Real Madrid was the team with the most goals scored in the league – 118. But, scoring wasn’t the only good thing he did – CR7 made a fair number of assists. Only Messi had more assists that Ronaldo, who assisted his teammates scoring on 16 occasions. Another interesting fact about this player is that he scored hat-tricks in 8 different matches in 2014/2015 season.
Cristiano Ronaldo was the most important, but not the only player who deserves praise for Real Madrid’s success in Primera. Toni Kroos was the player in which Carlo Ancelotti had the most confidence. Kroos played more games than any other player of Real Madrid and was instrumental in the midfield. Gareth Bale also did a good job, made a few assists and scored 13 goals, same as James Rodriguez who came from Monaco for € 80M in summer 2014.
