Valencia-Sevilla betting preview
Sevilla have one leg at the door step of Europa League final after the first leg of semi final at home against the fellow Spanish team Valencia. They will be confident of protecting their facile two-goal advantage they gained from that match in the second leg on this Thursday. Valencia, on the other hand, will be hoping for yet a minor miracle that will see the team though to the finals
Valencia have not lost a match at home in this season’s Europa league, since their defeat in their very first match against Swansea City. The problem is that any victory will not help them. They will have to win with a three-goal margin if Sevilla manage to score. Sevilla, with their in-form strikers, is most likely to score. And Valencia will have to eke out a win by a three-goal margin. Valencia has been there and done that before, in the quarterfinals against Basel.
Both the teams have lost their La Liga games after their last week’s meetings. While Valencia went down 1-0 against Atletico Madrid, Sevilla lost 3-1 against Athletico Bilbao. Sevilla’s defeat put an end to their hopes of finishing fourth in the league. Now the Europa crown remains their only hope for glory in the season.
Valencia will miss out their ace forward Paco Alcacer due to suspension. Midfielder Oriol Romeu too is a doubtful starter following a muscle injury he sustained against Atletico in the weekend.
Sevilla’s only injury concern is about defender Carrico. The team will hope that their sparkling attack, comprising Kevin Gameiro, Carlos Bacca and Ivan Rakitic, will get that all-important away goal early in the match.
Valencia are set to launch an all-out attack. But Sevilla is likely to survive that.
