A round ago, Arsenal were holding the first spot in the English Premier league. To reclaim that position, they need a win against their city rivals West Ham.
West Ham United are only one spot above the relegation zone and are hoping that they’ll have more luck next year. The second part of 2013 hasn’t been their best time. West Ham have big problems with injuries. Their biggest sighing this season, Andy Carroll didn’t play a single match this season. Mladen Petric and Vaz Te are also out, and so is their star midfielder Stewart Downing. With these players fit, West Ham would probably be much higher on the table, but until they get back in the team, the Hammers will have to struggle hard.
Arsenal are coming to West Ham to take all three points and get back on the top spot. They lost the number one place after a draw with Chelsea in the previous round. The Gunners were a better team in that match, although the game was a bit boring. Their manager, Arsene Wenger was sure his team was closer to victory and claims they should’ve given a penalty after Walcott’s run in the box. As there are five teams currently competing for the first spot, a win in this game is of outmost importance for the North London side.
